Almost immediately after those tests, I was scheduled for a laparoscopic resection for colon cancer at UMass Memorial. The staff there treated me with such respect. Although I was diagnosed with cancer, they gave me hope and made it a positive experience, even though I was facing a very uncertain outcome. And my surgical care was excellent.
